Current plans for the honeymoon consist of a two week tour of Turkey's beautiful "Turquoise" coast in southeastern Turkey. They will stay for a week at the legendary Hillside Beach Club in Fethiye. Nearby is the legendary Oludeniz and Blue Lagoon.







From there, they will rent a car and journey west from Fethiye, across the southern "Turquoise" coast toward the town of Marmaris, stopping at Göcek and Dalyan.








First stop will be the village of Göcek for more sun and beach activities.








From there they will head to the beaches and canals of Dalyan. They will stay 1-2 nights in Dalyan which is close the ancient Lycian city of Kaunos. Here they will take in the sites of ancient monuments, cliffside tombs, an ancient amphitheatre and acropolis.





In Dalyan there exists mud baths and hot springs where people come from miles to visit these soothing waters. As well, it is near here where you can visit ancient site that is supposedly Cleopatra's sunken bath. Rumor has it that she and Anthony spent three years here on their honeymoon.









Close by, they will go to the nearby beach which is famous for where the rare Caretta Caretta Turtles lay their eggs (and June is the month they do this).















They will stay their last four nights in Marmaris. While in Marmaris, they will take a Blue Cruise, try a little scuba diving, snorkeling, and just enjoy the last remaining days on the beach before they head back to Dalaman Airport, and then back to Istanbul.



You might be thinking, why so close to home for a honeymoon? This seems like you are leaving Seattle to go to the Pacific Coast (not that that isn't bad). Well when asked, Jon and Beyza replied, "We just wanted something that wasn't going to take a day out of our itinerary to get there. Our main priorities were crystal-clear blue water, palm trees, and a beach (possibly sipping a cool beverage :-P)."
